Khu vực quanh chân núi Tam Đảo có điều kiện khí hậu và thời tiết khá thuận lợi. Nền nhiệt độ mát mẻ do có địa hình núi và hồ nước bao quanh đã tạo điều kiện để hệ sinh thái rừng tự nhiên phát triển rậm rạp, điều này lý giải phần nào từ thế kỉ trước, người Pháp đã tới đây để khảo sát và xây dựng những khu nghỉ dưỡng biệt lập trên núi cao.
Sinh cảnh quanh khu vực sân gôn Tam Đảo nổi bật là cây thông, chúng phát triển thành từng rặng, phủ kín vài ngọn đồi thấp và dải đất sát chân núi. Điều này tạo nên bối cảnh tuyệt vời cho các loại hình biệt thự tư nhân hoặc biệt thự nghỉ dưỡng quy mô vừa và nhỏ.
Tam Đảo Retreat, đúng theo tên gọi thì đây là chốn an trú của một gia đình 3 thế hệ. Mảnh đất này đã được giữ gìn suốt hơn 10 năm, toàn bộ 52 cây lớn trong khuôn viên đất hiện trạng được bảo tồn, bao quanh bởi hệ tường rào sơn xanh chắc chắn. Nhìn từ xa, công trình mang tới cảm giác như một khối đá đã tồn tại lâu năm, diện tích xây dựng căn biệt thư bên trong khu đất cũng khá khiêm tốn (chỉ chiếm 1/10 diện tích khu đất), chừng đó theo kiến trúc sư và chủ đầu tư là đủ để cả gia đình sinh sống hài hoà với thiên nhiên.
Căn nhà thiết kế theo phong tối giản, là tổ hợp các không gian được bố trí len lỏi bên dưới những gốc cây lưu niên. Hai khối nhà 1 tầng và một khối nhà 2 tầng kết nối nhau nhờ hệ thang sắt và những khoảng trống liên thông. Không gian trong căn nhà được thiết kế với hướng mở tối đa ra bên ngoài để tận hưởng toàn bộ bối cảnh xung quanh, điểm đặc biệt ở công trình này là những góc tường không có “điểm chết”, chúng được cấu thành trong suốt nhờ những diện cửa kính lớn khiến cho căn nhà như một phần của tự nhiên, một cách rất tự nhiên. Bốn phòng ngủ được đặt ở 2 phía đầu hồi, không gian sinh hoạt chung và khoảng sân trời được bố trí ở giữa để kết nối toàn bộ hoạt động của các thành viên trong nhà đình. Khối cảnh quan xung quanh cấu thành bởi một hồ bơi vô cực đặt giữa cụm thông quanh năm gọi gió. Vào những ngày nắng hay mưa, không gian này hầu như luôn ổn định về chất cảm tự nhiên, điều đó khiến người sống trong nhà luôn muốn ra ngoài để giao tiếp với thiên nhiên thay vì ẩn mình sau lớp kính.
Toàn bộ đồ nội thất bên trong nhà cũng được lựa chọn để phù hợp với kiểu thực tối giản của cả căn biệt thự, chủ yếu mang tông màu trung tính. Nhờ cao độ lớn hơn những cụm biệt thự xung quanh TDR luôn yên tĩnh hơn, tạo cảm giác thư thái, nhẹ nhàng cho bất cứ ai ghé chơi hoặc nghỉ lại.
Quan điểm tôn trọng tự nhiên và bối cảnh được cả kiến trúc sư và chủ đầu tư thống nhất đã tạo tiền đề để TDR có được tinh thần “retreat”. Đây cũng là một thái độ cư xử nhẹ nhàng với tự nhiên mà Idee Architects đã và đang theo đuổi trong quá trình tạo lập chuỗi biệt thự nghỉ dưỡng tại Việt Nam.

The habitat around this area is dominated by pine trees, which grow and cover several low hills and a strip of land close to the mountain. This makes a great background for small and medium-sized private villas or resort villas.
Tam Dao Retreat, as the name suggests, this is the refuge of a family of 3 generations. This land has been preserved for more than 10 years, all 52 large trees in the current land are preserved, surrounded by a solid green painted fence. From a distance, the villa looks like a grey rock existed for a long time, the construction area inside is also quite modest (only taking up 1/10 of the land area), that enough for the whole family to live in harmony with nature.
The villa has a minimalist design style, the combination of spaces around the trees. Two 1-storey blocks and a 2-storey block are connected by iron ladders and communication spaces with nature. The interior space is designed to maximize outwards to enjoy the entire surrounding context, the “cornerless” are made transparent by the large glass doors. Four bedrooms are located at the two ends of the villa, the common living space and the courtyards are designed in the middle to connect all members of the family. The surrounding landscape is composed of an infinity pool placed in the middle of a cluster of pine trees. On sunny or rainy days, this space is almost always stable in terms of natural feel, which makes people living in the house always want to go out to communicate with nature instead of hiding behind glass.
